Sunny Deol has had an interesting career in Bollywood. Starting out in the 1980s with action films like Arjun and Dacait, he became a massive star in the 1990s and 2000s. One of his contemporary actors is Sanjay Dutt and the two have worked together on projects like Yodha, Kroadh, and Kshatriya. Now, there is good news for fans who have been wanting to see them together on the silver screen.
On 28 July, they will start shooting for a film titled Janmbhoomi, which will be based on the famous Ram Mandir Trial. Sanjay Dutt might reportedly play the role of the opposition lawyer in the film. According to reports, the entire film will be shot in Mumbai on sets where Ayodha, as well as courtrooms will be recreated.
Janmbhoomi will be exploring the tricky and controversial topic of the Ayodhya dispute, a subject that Bollywood has more or less avoided so far due to the fear of backlash. However, this film seems promising and it would be interesting to see what new Sunny and Sanjay will bring to the table.
One has to remember that Sunny Deol is part of the ruling party and he must have got facts right before he starts the film. He will also have all the support behind him.
Sunny Deol’s Upcoming Projects
Sunny is gearing up for the release of the much anticipated Gadar 2, co-starring Ameesha Patel and Utkarsh Sharma. The film is a direct sequel to the superhit 2001 film Gadar. Directed by Anil Sharma (who helmed the previous installment), Gadar 2 will release theatrically on 11 August where it will clash with Akshay Kumar’s OMG 2. He will be seen with Sanjay in another project titled Baap. Sanjay, on the other hand, will be seen in the Tamil film Leo and Ghudchadi in addition to a cameo in the much-awaited Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan.
