Just when its opening looked too soft to spark much theatrical chatter, Krishnavataram Part 1: The Heart found its pulse on Saturday. The devotional drama posted a clear Day 2 upswing after a muted start, giving its first weekend a far steadier shape and keeping it in play as a film that can still build through audience traction rather than pure opening-day hype.
The film has collected Rs 3.80 crore nett in two days, with Rs 0.40 crore from previews, Rs 1.15 crore on Day 1, and Rs 2.25 crore on Day 2. On current trends, that puts it on course for an opening weekend of around Rs 6.25 crore nett.
That is still an average launch by box office standards, especially for a film mounted on a mythological and devotional canvas. But the Saturday growth matters because it has improved the early perception of the release and given the film a better platform heading into Sunday and the crucial weekday stretch.
If the film can convert that momentum into stronger holdover business, the opening frame may end up looking more respectable than its Friday start suggested. For now, the weekend story is less about a breakout and more about a release managing to steady itself after a hesitant beginning.
The Film Behind The Weekend Trend
Beyond the numbers, Krishnavataram Part 1: The Heart is also an ambitious attempt to mount a mythological saga for the big screen. Directed by Hardik Gajjar, the 2026 devotional drama stars Siddharth Gupta, Sanskruti Jayana, Sushmitha Bhat and Nivaashiyni Krishnan, and was produced by Creativeland Studios Entertainment and Athashrikatha Motion Pictures. It reached theatres on May 7, 2026.
The story is drawn from the Brahma Vaivarta Purana and unfolds through Satyabhama’s perspective, focusing on Lord Krishna’s life after his separation from Radha. Planned as the first part of a trilogy, the film aims to combine spiritual storytelling with franchise-scale ambition, which makes its box office footing in the opening weekend especially significant.
Sunday will now show whether the film can stretch this improved trend into a healthier total. Even at an average level, a steadier first weekend gives Krishnavataram Part 1: The Heart something every mythological launch needs in its opening days, breathing room.
