Recently, director Anand Tiwari shared interesting details about her role in Bad Newz, starring Vicky Kaushal and Ammy Virk. He revealed that she was cast for the film long before she was considered for Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal.
Bad Newz Director Reveals Karan Johar Recommended Triptii Dimri After Watching Her In Qala
In an interview with the Indian Express, Tiwari disclosed that Karan Johar played a pivotal role in recommending Dimri for Bad Newz. “Karan Johar recommended Triptii while she was still being considered for Animal and not yet part of the film,” Tiwari said. Johar’s reference came after he watched her performances in Bulbbul and Qala, which impressed him greatly.
Tiwari explained that the decision to cast Dimri was based on her remarkable talent, evident from her previous work. He recalled instantly recognising her potential the moments he saw her on the set. “Triptii Dimri is Vicky Kaushal in making,” Tiwari remarked.
He noted her grounded background and predicted that her performance in Bad Newz would exceed expectations. He described her as “a talent that will last.”
