Hrithik Roshan is presently gearing up for his next project titled Vikram Vedha. Directed by Pushkar-Gayatri the film was earlier approached to Aamir Khan.
A year ago it was reported that the superstar is in talks with the makers of Vikram Vedha for the film. However, it turns out that the actor opted for the project.
According to the reports Aamir wanted the movie to be set in the background of gang-wars in Hong Kong China, which will eventually make it more friendly for the Chinese market. The source was quoted as saying, “Aamir Khan loved the original version of Vikram Vedha and had conveyed to Neeraj Pandey, Reliance and the director duo, his vision for the gangster drama. Aamir wanted to spin it around as a quintessential Hong-Kong based Gangster drama, with sleek action, set against the backdrop of gang-wars in Hong Kong, making the story more friendly for the Chinese market, to get additional gains from the market. The storytelling template would have been a first for Indian audience too.”
Source also revealed that the creative team have even started working on the script and took out multiple narration meetings that happened with Aamir. He was happy with the script too. However, the actor took a back step after the COVID-19 outbreak happened. A publication’s report said, “But when Covid-19 outbreak happened, followed by the tussle in Ladakh, the relationship between India and China went from bad to worse and Aamir had no option but to back out of the film.”
Vikram Vedha also stars Saif Ali Khan. The actor will be seen playing the role of a cop.
