Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar & Ananya Panday’s Pati Patni Aur Woh is releasing tomorrow. The movie is getting a good response from the critics who have already watched the film. But the movie has been under the radar of many who criticised for misogyny and sexism.
When the trailer was out, many viewers got annoyed by a dialogue that trivialised marital rape. For the uninitiated, the said dialogue is “Biwi se sex maang le toh hum bhikaari, biwi ko hum sex na de toh hum atyaachari, aur kisi tarah jugaad laga ke hum use sex haasil kar le na, toh balatkari bhi hum hai”.
After the criticism, makers decided to get rid of the term ‘balatkatri’ from the dialogue. But, till now, we didn’t know whether they will beep the word or use a substitute word. Makers have replaced the word Balatkari with Bad Sanskaari.
Even a portion from the dialogue, ‘usse sex haasil’, was changed to ‘usko sex ke liye raazi kar le na’. Abusive words like ‘c*****a’, ‘haraamzaade’ and ‘iski maa ka’ are muted. The total length of the film is 2 hours 8 minutes.
