Akshay Kumar’s latest film, Sarfira, directed by Sudha Kongara, has wrapped up its first week at the box office with a total collection of Rs 17.85 crore. Despite glowing reviews from critics, the film has failed to attract substantial audience numbers, marking yet another disappointment for Kumar.
Akshay Kumar’s Sarfira Wraps Up 1st Week With Rs 17.85 Cr
The film’s journey started on a low note, earning Rs 2.50 crore on its opening day. However, there was a noticeable improvement over the weekend. On Day 2, Sarfira saw its collections rise to Rs 4.50 crore, an impressive 80% increase from the previous day. The positive trend continued into Day 3, with the film earning Rs 5.50 crore, reflecting a 22% rise from Day 2.
Despite this initial growth, Sarfira faced a sharp decline in earnings from Day 4 onwards. Day 4 saw a steep drop, with collections plummeting to Rs 1.40 crore, a 74% decrease from the previous day. The film’s performance remained weak on Day 5 and Day 6, with earnings of Rs 1.30 crore and Rs 1.50 crore, respectively. On Day 7, the decline continued, with the film earning Rs 1.15 crore.

Sarfira Verdict: DISASTER!
Sarfira is expected to struggle to reach even Rs 25 crore by the end of its run. Given its substantial budget of Rs 70 to 80 crores, the film is set to incur significant losses for its producers.
This latest setback adds to Akshay Kumar’s series of underwhelming releases. Sarfira marks Kumar’s 7th flop since his last successful film, Sooryavanshi, which was released during the pandemic. The film’s limited promotions, lack of hype, and the fact that it is a remake might have contributed to its disappointing performance.
As Sarfira heads into its second week, its ability to boost its earnings remains uncertain. The verdict remains the same – DISASTER!

Directed by Sudha Kongara, Sarfira stars Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, and Radhika Madan, and is a remake of the acclaimed Tamil film Soorarai Pottru (2020), based on GR Gopinath’s memoir, Simply Fly: A Deccan Odyssey, which won multiple accolades at the 68th National Film Awards.
