Alia Bhatt is gearing up for a busy season ahead with multiple film projects in the pipeline. Following her appearances in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani and Heart of Stone, she is eagerly anticipating her next film, Jigra, alongside newcomer Vedang Raina.
Scheduled initially for September 27, the film will now hit screens on October 11, 2024.
Alia Bhatt Shares Her Experience Working With Vasan Bala
During a recent conversation with News18.com, Alia shared her enthusiasm for Jigra, directed by Vasan Bala. “It is releasing on October 11, and what I can tell you about it is that it is releasing on October 11, 2024 (laughs),” Alia joked.
Shedding light on the ongoing post-production efforts, she said, “I had a wonderful time working with Vasan Bala. He has got the perfect balance of cool and nostalgia.”
Discussing her experience on set, Alia highlighted Vasan Bala’s unique filmmaking style. “You’ll see so many Easter eggs in his films and in Jigra as well,” she revealed.
She added, “He has this grounding, old-soul sort of quality, yet he is also so edgy and cool. As a filmmaker, the way he writes and thinks is amazing. I had a blast working with him.”

Jigra marks Alia’s first collaboration with Vedang Raina, who plays her brother in the film. “Vedang is just sublime,” she praised. “I am not going to say much about the relationship we share in the film, but I can definitely say that we had a very seamless, easy-going work relationship.”
Aside from Jigra, Alia is set to dazzle audiences with an action-packed spy thriller under Yash Raj Films’ banner. She is equally thrilled about reuniting with Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War.
Speaking about their upcoming film, she expressed, “Ranbir and SLB will also reunite in the film 17 years after Saawariya. I am really excited to see them together again. It’s going to be amazing.”
