Director Anees Bazmee has now officially addressed the casting change rumours surrounding his long-awaited comedy sequel No Entry 2. After hearing reports that Diljit Dosanjh had exited the sequel, Bazmee remained collected and upbeat on the film’s development and said the biggest victory was getting it back on track after so many years.
“I’m Just Happy The Film Is Getting Made”: Bazmee On Casting Changes
In a recent interview, Anees Bazmee expressed his sentiments surrounding the changes:
“We’re just happy the film is being made; there is no happier thing! At this moment, woh hi ho raha hai jo upar waala chahta hai.”
Bazmee went on to mention that in the world of variety and changing schedules, it’s nothing new when it comes to casting. He said not every film is made with the first-choice actors, but when using other actors, the audience has still given their blessing.
“I have worked with actors that were my second or third choice; but when the films released people said no one else could’ve done it better.”
Anees On Diljit: “Very Honest and Talented”
Even with the rumours, Bazmee only spoke highly of Diljit:
“He’s really sincere and talented. He said yes to the film just by relaying the one-line idea. He didn’t even wait to start a full narration.”
Bazmee went on to explain that there was a last meeting that lasted ten minutes, and it was only about sorting out date issues. Boney Kapoor, part of the film’s production, was also there.
“And since it’s a big film. All things become news. So I have taken it for how it is. Main kabhi safaiyaan nahi deta. Jo hoga hoga, achha hoga.“
What We Know About No Entry 2
A sequel to the 2005 hit No Entry has been in production for almost a decade. The first one had Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, and Fardeen Khan, and the next instalment is expected to take a new route.
At present, Varun Dhawan and Arjun Kapoor are understood to be confirmed for two of the three lead male roles, and the final male lead and female actors are yet to be finalised.
The movie will be produced by Boney Kapoor and is framed as a big-budget, three-hero comedy entertainer, a lot like the Welcome Back and Housefull zone of ensemble fun.
Box Office Worldwide Verdict
Anees Bazmee has not lost any sleep, and the project is still on. Bazmee’s reaction to the news of Diljit Dosanjh’s alleged withdrawal from No Entry 2 may have disappointed fans, but it also showed the director is focused on the bigger picture: making a movie and giving us one more laugh riot.
With reports that Varun Dhawan, Arjun Kapoor, and others are still in flux on the casting side, No Entry 2 is still up and running. Bazmee has it right:
“Jo hoga, achcha hi hoga.“
