Chhaava: Vicky Kaushal Prays With Folded Hands, Pays His First-Ever Visit To Raigad Fort On Shivaji Jayanti 2025 – SEE PICS!

Chhaava star Vicky Kaushal visited Raigad fort to seek blessings on the occasion Shivaji Jayanti 2025 amid the film's successful run.

Vicky Kaushal is celebrating the success of Chhaava with a special tribute. On Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti, he visited Raigad Fort for the first time to honour the legendary warrior king.

Vicky shared pictures from his visit on social media. In one of them, he is seen folding his hands in prayer before Shivaji Maharaj’s idol.

Sharing the photos from his visit, he wrote, “Today on the occasion of #ChhatrapatiShivajiJayanti, I had the good fortune of paying my respects at #RaigadFort. It was my first time here and there couldn’t have been a better time to come and take blessings from Maharaj.”

He wore a traditional kurta and was accompanied by Chhaava producer Dinesh Vijan. He also tied a Maharashtrian pheta on a young girl’s head, showing his deep respect for the culture. Fans gathered at the fort, and he took time to greet them.

CM Devendra Fadnavis Praises Chhaava

The film has impressed not just audiences but also political leaders. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis praised the film’s historical accuracy.

On February 19, he said, “I am happy that a very good movie has been made on his (Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj’s) life. I have yet to watch it, but I have heard from people that this film has been made without distorting history.”

There is growing demand to make the film tax-free. Addressing this, Fadnavis stated, “There has been a lot of demand from the people to make this film tax-free. I want to inform the people that we removed the entertainment tax in 2017 itself in Maharashtra. We will see what best we can do to promote this film and make it available for maximum people.”

About Chhaava

Directed by Laxman Utekar, Chhaava released on February 14 and has received mixed reviews. Vicky plays Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, alongside Akshaye Khanna and Rashmika Mandanna.

The film has already crossed Rs 150 crore in India within five days. Adapted from the Marathi novel Chhava by Shivaji Sawant, the film has won hearts with its strong storytelling and performances.
