Urban Love In Focus — A Standalone Sequel With Legacy Ties
Metro In Dino, while not a sequel to Basu’s cult favourite Life In A… Metro, is a spiritual sequel. Like Life In A… Metro, it tells the story of urban characters connected by fate, timing and the pandemonium of reaching your destination.
Metro In Dino is the final piece of Basu’s hyperlink trilogy (Life In A… Metro and Ludo being the first two) and features a cast of urban actors who enhance the base level of absurdity and gravitas (relatability) using their depth of experience as actors: Anupam Kher, Pankaj Tripathi, Konkona Sen Sharma, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Ali Fazal, and Neena Gupta.
Here’s hoping their characters fit into the same web of narratives visible in every city space amongst love, disconnection, re-connection and the moments that make up our lives.

The first visual from Metro In Dino is the “first signal” to what a storytelling experience will be through feeling versus spectacle and will look like in classic Anurag Basu aesthetics — layered characters, limited dialogue, textured city, and subtle emotional undercurrents. The teaser is not the full-on, loud unveiling; it is just a “signal”.
The first look of the song’s teaser is leaving the sky-high expectations of having Pritam on board to compose the music. The original Metro and its refined experience of In Dino are still in the nostalgic zone of current fan favourites, so there’s a huge volume of pressure and possibility.

The film is being released by Gulshan Kumar & T-Series in association with Anurag Basu Productions Pvt Ltd. Anurag Basu is the director, and it is being produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Anurag Basu, and Taani Basu.
‘Metro इन दिनों…’ is scheduled for release in cinemas on 4th July 2025 for the mid-year viewing experience, which encompasses introspection and modern romance, with possibly music-driven storytelling.
