EXCLUSIVE: Taapsee Pannu’s Assi Trailer Launch Pushed to Tomorrow To Avoid The Clash With Dhurandhar: The Revenge Teaser Which Released Today

The trailer launch of Taapsee Pannu starrer Assi was originally lined up for today, but has now been pushed by a day in a deliberate move to avoid a noise clash with the teaser launch of Dhurandhar: The Revenge.

Box Office Worldwide has exclusively learned that the makers of Assi decided to shift the trailer drop to tomorrow to ensure the campaign gets a clean window, after Dhurandhar’s sequel released its teaser today and began dominating the day’s conversation. The decision comes despite prior plans to unveil Assi’s trailer today, and the postponement is being positioned internally as a tactical call to protect visibility across platforms.

What dropped today from Dhurandhar 2 and why it mattered

Today’s distraction was never going to be minor. Ranveer Singh unveiled the film’s first big look through a blood-soaked poster, confirming the sequel’s title as Dhurandhar: The Revenge and revealing a worldwide release date of March 19, 2026, with a pan-India rollout in multiple languages. Reports also noted that the teaser was scheduled for a precise drop time, adding to the event-style rollout.

The poster itself pushed a darker, vengeance-led pitch, and early reports around the visual suggested the sequel leans into a more personal revenge arc compared to the first film’s tone. With the teaser landing today, the film instantly became the dominant trending conversation across entertainment feeds, leaving little oxygen for any parallel trailer launch.

The key launch assets around Assi so far
Assi has been marketed as an intense, hard-hitting theatrical watch, with its first look and motion-poster style assets positioning the film in a serious space ahead of its February 20 release. With the trailer now arriving tomorrow morning, the makers are expected to restart the campaign with a clearer runway, rather than splitting attention on a day already owned by a major sequel tease.

For Assi, the shift is less about delay and more about distribution of attention. In a week where trailers and teasers are competing for the same social timelines, one day can be the difference between being seen and being buried.

Hard Hitting Film Assi And Cast

Anubhav Sinha’s Assi poses a question that stares us in the face every day, one we often choose to look away from. As the makers roll out trailer tomorrow after the release of the motion poster and teaser, the film’s intent becomes unmistakably clear.

Arguably one of the most prolific Indian studios, T-Series adds a new shade to its versatile oeuvre with ASSI, packaging an enviable ensemble cast headlined by Taapsee Pannu in a Benaras Mediaworks production. Alongside Taapsee, the film features Kani Kusruti, Revathy, Manoj Pahwa, Kumud Mishra, Zeeshan Ayyub, with special appearances by Naseeruddin Shah, Supriya Pathak, and Seema Bhargava.
