Baby Do Die Do Box Office Day 1: Huma Qureshi’S Film Posts Low Rs 0.40 Crore Net Opening

Huma Qureshi’s Baby Do Die Do entered theatres with an intriguing premise and a striking lead turn, but its box office journey has begun on a quiet note. The dark comedy action thriller collected Rs 0.40 crore net in India on its opening day, with the gross figure reaching Rs 0.48 crore, marking a low start for the film despite a release across 778 shows.

That number is the story on day one. For a new Hindi theatrical release fronted by Qureshi, the opening remained limited, and the film now heads into the weekend needing stronger footfalls to build any real momentum. The early trend also suggests that its audience pull was concentrated in select metro centres rather than spread widely across the circuit.

Latest Box Office Update

The latest confirmed day one figures place Baby Do Die Do at Rs 0.40 crore net and Rs 0.48 crore gross in India. The opening day numbers look kind of subdued because on Friday the occupancy was low, so those scheduled shows didn’t really turn into solid ticket sales.

Those two details explain why the 778-show rollout did not translate into a stronger opening. The film stayed dependent on a narrow urban multiplex audience, and that left its first-day business well below the level needed for a comfortable theatrical launch. The weekend now becomes crucial for its immediate box office trajectory.

About Baby Do Die Do

Baby Do Die Do is a Hindi dark comedy action thriller directed by Nachiket Samant and led by Huma Qureshi. The film positions her at the centre of a stylised underworld drama, with the story following Baby, a deaf and mute contract killer moving through Mumbai with a weaponised red umbrella while hunting those responsible for her twin sister’s murder.

Even as the ticket sales opened slowly, the film appears to have found at least one talking point in Qureshi’s performance. The source notes, “Viewers, or at least many of them, are especially praising Huma Qureshi’s performance as a character who is deaf and mute, caught inside a dangerous underworld, and they say it feels deeply grounded and emotionally powerful too.” For a film that has started low commercially, that early response could prove important in the days ahead.
