Thevvaan Hits Rs 54.86 Crore In Week 1 As Gandhi Jayanti Bogo Boosts Its Week 2 Start

TheVvaan has marched into its second week with the kind of box office grip that instantly changes the conversation around a theatrical release. After a strong opening week worth Rs 54.86 crore nett in India, the Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia starrer has now landed on Gandhi Jayanti, with a holiday boost and a buy-one-get-one ticket offer giving its Week 2 launch added muscle.

The film opened with Rs 8.12 crore on Friday, jumped to Rs 11.41 crore on Saturday and peaked at Rs 15.10 crore on Sunday before settling into the weekday corridor with Rs 5.31 crore on Monday, Rs 6.10 crore on Tuesday, Rs 4.21 crore on Wednesday and Rs 4.61 crore on Thursday. That pattern gave TheVvaan a healthy first-week total of Rs 54.86 crore nett in India and underlined its ability to sustain beyond the opening weekend.

Gandhi Jayanti Gives Thevvaan A Timely Push

Friday, October 2, 2026, coincides with Gandhi Jayanti, and the holiday has handed TheVvaan an important opportunity just as it begins Week 2. The film is also running with a buy-one-get-one ticket offer on Friday, a move that strengthens its pull in the mass-heavy circuits where it has already held strongly.

The bigger story here is the consistency of the run. A first-week total above Rs 50 crore, backed by strong business in Tier 2 and Tier 3 centres, confirms that the film has connected well beyond its initial curiosity factor. TheVvaan enters its second week with a solid foothold in the market and clear support across key non-metro circuits.

Drishyam The Conclusion Brings A Major Week 2 Challenge

That said, Week 2 will not be an easy ride. Drishyam: The Conclusion, led by Ajay Devgn, released in theatres on October 2, 2026, and arrives as a major new Hindi release with franchise value and holiday advantage on its side. That sets up a direct box office test for TheVvaan right at the start of its second weekend.

For TheVvaan, the task now is clear. It needs to hold screens, protect its mass-market circuits and continue drawing family audiences even as a high-profile thriller enters the market. Its first-week result has already given it a cushion, but the next few days will decide whether the film can move from being a clean success story to a stronger long-run winner.

Thevvaan’s Fantasy World And Theatrical Pull

Directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra and backed by Balaji Motion Pictures and TVF Motion Pictures, TheVvaan: Force of the Forrest stands out in the current Hindi market because of its fantasy-adventure positioning, a space that has remained relatively underexplored in mainstream theatrical releases this year. With mythology, survival drama and a forest-set visual design at its core, the film arrived with a genre identity that clearly separated it from the usual action and thriller-heavy lineup.

That distinct packaging has become central to its theatrical profile. Rather than depending only on urban multiplex curiosity, TheVvaan has built its run on broader audience acceptance, especially in centres where scale, emotion and accessible spectacle continue to drive ticket sales. Crossing Rs 50 crore in seven days has now firmly placed the film among the stronger Hindi box office performers of 2026.
