Shah Rukh Khan’s fierce first-look style from King sets the internet ablaze amid T-Series’ exclusive global rights deal

Shah Rukh Khan’s King has just added another major commercial milestone well before its theatrical release. Box Office Worldwide has exclusively learned that T-Series has secured the film’s long-term global commercial music rights in a 50-year deal, shutting down recent chatter around a short-duration licensing arrangement.

The agreement gives T-Series exclusive control over the soundtrack’s commercial exploitation worldwide, with the rights flowing from Red Chillies Entertainment through Zee Music Company. That makes this one of the biggest long-horizon music acquisitions attached to a mainstream Hindi tentpole in recent years, especially for a film carrying the scale and market pull of King.

T-Series Locks In The Key Music Play

Contrary to recent speculation around a brief licensing window, this is a full-scale long-term acquisition. The deal covers the commercial exploitation of the film’s music assets on an exclusive basis across global markets for the next 50 years.

A T-Series spokesperson said, “There is no transient licensing structure or short-term handover at play. T-Series has locked in an absolute 50-year commercial monopoly over the audio and music video rights for King. Every song, video, and publishing interest rests squarely under the T-Series banner for the long haul.”

That statement underlines the size of the acquisition and the confidence around the soundtrack’s future value. For a film led by Shah Rukh Khan and mounted on a large action canvas, music is expected to be a major revenue and visibility driver from the first single to long-tail digital consumption.

Why King’s Music Package Matters

Red Chillies Entertainment has confirmed King for a December 24, 2026 theatrical release, placing it among the biggest Hindi titles lined up for the Christmas corridor. The timing alone gives its soundtrack enormous commercial upside, with every single likely to be positioned as an event release.

The film is directed by Siddharth Anand and backed by Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix Pictures. Shah Rukh Khan leads the cast alongside Deepika Padukone, Suhana Khan and Abhishek Bachchan, giving the project a formidable mix of star power, youth appeal and franchise-scale visibility in the market.

The added buzz around an Ed Sheeran and Arijit Singh collaboration only strengthens the soundtrack’s appeal, while the involvement of high-value music talent has already made King one of the most closely watched audio albums in the Hindi film pipeline.

Shah Rukh Khan’s Recent And Upcoming Work

Shah Rukh Khan was last seen on the big screen in Dunki in 2023, which followed Jawan and Pathaan in the same year, an extraordinary theatrical run that re-established him at the top of the Hindi box office. King is his next confirmed theatrical release and is set to arrive in cinemas on December 24, 2026.
