Nawazuddin Siddiqui Calls Out ‘fake’ Narrative Films, Viral Clip Reignites Dhurandhar The Revenge Propaganda Debate

A short clip of Nawazuddin Siddiqui speaking bluntly about “propaganda” and “fake” narrative-driven cinema has exploded across social media this week, landing right in the middle of an already heated online conversation around Dhurandhar The Revenge. While the actor did not name any specific title, the timing of the viral moment has pushed netizens into overdrive, with many linking his remarks to films that have been accused of pushing a political agenda.

The clip, circulating widely on X and Instagram, shows Nawazuddin responding to a question about the current trend of narrative-heavy films. His tone is measured but firm, with the emphasis clearly on honesty in storytelling and the responsibility that comes with mass influence.

What Nawazuddin Siddiqui Said In The Viral Clip

In the video, Nawazuddin is heard calling out the rise of propaganda-driven films and warning against pushing audiences toward a manufactured version of “truth.” He says, “Kya jhooth phailaya ja raha hai aur kya narrative set kiya ja raha hai. Sab iske baare mein jaante hain,” underlining his point that viewers today can tell when they are being sold a curated narrative instead of reality.

In another portion of the clip, he stresses that filmmakers should not mislead society, adding that truth is “bahut important” in cinema. The clip has travelled fast because it taps into a larger cultural argument, where films are increasingly dissected not just as entertainment, but as messaging.

Why Dhurandhar The Revenge Is Being Dragged Into The Conversation

Soon after Nawazuddin’s clip went viral, social media users began explicitly connecting his comments to Dhurandhar The Revenge, a film that has attracted polarised reactions online, including claims that it functions as propaganda. Several users also brought The Kerala Story into the same debate, citing it as another flashpoint title in recent political discourse around Hindi cinema.

What is confirmed, however, is that Nawazuddin has not publicly clarified that his remarks were aimed at Dhurandhar The Revenge or any other specific project. The online linkage is being driven by public interpretation, not by a direct statement from him.

Dhurandhar The Revenge has been promoted as a large-scale espionage thriller, and it has also faced strong commentary about its themes and portrayal, which is exactly why Nawazuddin’s general critique is being treated as fuel in a very specific fire.

Nawazuddin’s recent releases include Thamma (2025), Yakshasan (2025), and Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders (2025). In 2024, he was also seen in Adbhut.
