PVR INOX Apologises For Dhurandhar The Revenge Show Cancellations And Delays, Regional Versions Still Missing A Day After Release

A day after Dhurandhar The Revenge hit theatres on March 19, 2026, the film’s release-day buzz has been joined by audience frustration, with multiple moviegoers flagging cancelled and delayed shows across cities. The issue has been most visible around the film’s non-Hindi rollout, with viewers in several centres claiming that regional language shows were not available even 24 hours after release despite listings and promotions positioning the title as a multi-language launch.

The disruption triggered an official apology from PVR INOX, which acknowledged the inconvenience and pointed to a content delivery delay that affected certain screenings.

What PVR INOX Said About The Cancellations And Delays

In its message to audiences, PVR INOX apologised for the disruption and stated that “due to unforeseen content delay by production house, a few shows of Dhurandhar The Revenge have been impacted. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.” The chain’s note came as social media timelines filled with complaints about last-minute cancellations, pushed showtimes and confusion at the venue level.

Separately, director Aditya Dhar also issued a statement addressing the rollout, writing, “Dhurandhar is not just a film for us; it is something we have lived with, nurtured and dreamed of sharing with each one of you together, at the same moment, in every language.” He added that most Hindi shows were running from 5 pm onwards, while the dubbed-language schedule was adjusted, with Tamil and Telugu shows starting later and Malayalam and Kannada screenings pushed further.

The Latest Update On Dhurandhar The Revenge Box Office

As per early trade estimates available on March 19, 2026, Dhurandhar The Revenge collected around Rs 42 to Rs 44 crore from paid previews alone, achieved in roughly half a day of shows. The number positions the film as the biggest paid previews opener seen so far, comfortably clearing the previous high for preview collections which was 8.5 crore of Stree 2.

Film is almost assured to cross 75 crore on day one today and this number can go to 80 crore. Combined collection of day one including paid previews should be 120 crore nett and 145 crore gross. With 80 crore overseas number on cards for day one including paid previews, worldwide gross will be 225 crore for day one

While day one totals will settle only after full-day reporting, the pre-release traction has already established Dhurandhar The Revenge as a major theatrical moment for 2026.

About Dhurandhar The Revenge

Dhurandhar The Revenge is an action thriller headlined by Ranveer Singh. Aditya Dhar wrote, directed, and produced the film, with Jyoti Deshpande and Lokesh Dhar also serving as producers. The film was mounted as a multi-language theatrical release, with platforms and listings carrying language options including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.

At the centre of the current backlash is the gap between that pan-India promise and the on-ground experience for audiences who booked non-Hindi versions, only to be met with cancellations, delays, or missing shows in the first 24 hours.

Ranveer Singh’s Recent And Upcoming Work

Ranveer Singh was last seen in theatres in Dhurandhar (2025) and later appeared in the ensemble actioner Singham Again (2024). His newest release, Dhurandhar The Revenge (2026), has now arrived in cinemas amid a rocky show rollout in several regions.

On the horizon, his slate includes Andaz Apna Apna 2 (2026), directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, and Border 2 (2026), which has also been listed among major upcoming titles. He is also attached to Dhurandhar: Part 2 (2026), as the franchise continues to expand following the success of Dhurandhar.
