Salman Khan is confirmed to return with Kick 2, the much-awaited sequel to his 2014 blockbuster Kick. Writer Rajat Arora is working on the script and shared an exciting update. He confirmed that scripting is in progress and assured fans that the film will meet expectations.
Kick 2 To Start Where The 1st Part Ended
Khan’s character (Devi Lal Singh aka Devil) won hearts in Kick with his Robin Hood-like personality. The story will take a fresh turn in the sequel as his character becomes a police officer. Arora revealed to mid-day, “We are taking the story ahead from where Kick ended, with Salman’s character [becoming] a police officer.”
Fans have been waiting for Kick 2 for years. Speculations about the sequel kept circulating, but Sajid Nadiadwala officially announced it in October last year.
Addressing the delay, Arora said, “If any character demands a sequel, it is Devi Lal from Kick. There has been a huge demand for it, and we could have made it earlier to cash in on Kick’s popularity and Salman’s stardom. But we wanted the story to be perfect. That’s why it has taken time. The scripting is in progress and will be completed soon.”
Salman Khan Starrer Sequel Promises To Be A Complete Entertainer
Earlier, BOW exclusively reported that production is expected to begin in August. Though Arora did not confirm the timeline, he assured that Kick 2 will be a complete entertainer like the first film.
He added, “Sajid sir knows all aspects of filmmaking, including storytelling. Salman sir’s personality and stardom are legendary. So, I have to keep his stardom in mind while writing, but at the same time, the screenplay and dialogues come from the subject. Kick’s popular line – Main dil mein aata hoon, dimaag mein nahin – came from Salman’s persona.”
Besides Kick 2, Salman Khan is also preparing for director AR Murugadoss’ Sikandar. The film revolves around power, politics, and vigilante justice. Arora is excited as he co-wrote the dialogues for Sikandar.
He said, “When I heard the story from Murugadoss sir, I was blown away. It’s a powerful subject—socially relevant yet entertaining. It wasn’t easy to [convey] the right emotions while perfectly aligning them with the [core] subject.”
Arora is also busy with other films. He has written the screenplay and dialogues for Tiger Shroff starrer Baaghi 4, which is currently in production. Another one is Milan Luthria’s next, where Akshay Kumar plays a quirky cop.
