South Indian actor Kichcha Sudeep and Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn recently engaged in a public dispute regarding India’s national language, which appears to have sparked a lot of discussion on social media. The two actors were able to resolve their differences as quickly as possible, but it left a major question unanswered: ‘Is Hindi really India’s national language?’ Actor Sonu Sood, who has worked in both the Bollywood and South Indian cinema industries, has just commented to the entire controversy.
For the uninitiated, Devgn is gearing up for the debut of his upcoming thriller, Runway 34, which also features superstar Amitabh Bachchan. The whole thing started when Kichcha wrote that Hindi is no longer India’s native language. As a response, Ajay wrote a short paragraph disputing his assertion and pointing out that most south Indian films are dubbed in Hindi to appeal to a larger audience. He concluded the letter by stressing that Hindi was and would continue to be the country’s official language.

Hello @ajaydevgn sir.. the context to why i said tat line is entirely different to the way I guess it has reached you. Probably wil emphasis on why the statement was made when I see you in person. It wasn't to hurt,Provoke or to start any debate. Why would I sir 😁 https://t.co/w1jIugFid6

Kichcha Sudeep and Ajay Devgn eventually put their differences aside and agreed that the tone and intent of the translation had been lost. Several celebrities have been requested to speak on the matter, and actress Sonu Sood is the most recent to do so.
In a conversation with indianexpress.com, Sonu Sood said, “I don’t think Hindi can be called just the national language. India has one language, which is entertainment. It doesn’t really matter which industry you belong to. If you entertain people, they will love you, honour you and accept you. Only good cinema will be accepted”
