VIDEO: Sunny Deol Wishes To Reunite With Shah Rukh Khan 30 Years After Darr Fallout, Says ‘I Would Love To Do It’

Sunny Deol has expressed his wish to reunite with Shah Rukh Khan, 30 years after their fallout post Darr. Check out what he said!

Three decades after their iconic clash in Darr, Sunny Deol is ready to leave the past behind. The actor, who famously had a fallout with Shah Rukh Khan after the 1993 thriller, is now open to reuniting with him on screen.

During a recent interview, Sunny was asked who he’d like to team up with for a two-hero film. His response surprised many. He didn’t dodge the question or give a diplomatic answer. Instead, he clearly said, “I would love to do it.”

Sunny Deol Hopes To Reunite With SRK For A Two-Hero Film

Regarding Shah Rukh, Sunny shared with Pinkvilla, “Shah Rukh ke saath ek hi film ki thi. Toh ek aur kar sakte hain (I did only one film with Shah Rukh. So we can do another). It would be nice because that was a different period, and now it’s a different period, so definitely.”

It’s a refreshing change from what once was one of Bollywood’s most talked-about feuds. For those unaware, Sunny and Shah Rukh reportedly didn’t speak to each other for over 16 years after Darr.

About Their Years-Old Feud

Sunny had played the hero, while Shah Rukh took on the role of an obsessed stalker. But what irked Sunny was how SRK’s villainous character was portrayed in a more heroic light. In a past appearance on Aap Ki Adalat, Sunny opened up about the issue.

He said, “My only issue with the film was that I did not know they would glorify the villain. I always work in films with an open heart and believe the person. Unfortunately, we have many actors and stars who don’t function in this manner.”

Sunny Deol On How Industry Has Changed

Despite the Cold War, it seems time has softened the edges. Sunny acknowledged how the film industry has changed and that storytelling today no longer holds the same power it once did.

The actor said, “Aaj kal humare directors ke paas itna control nahi hai… which will justify the images of the actors. Woh bahut zaruri hai (Today, directors don’t have that much control, and stories don’t justify the actors’ images. That’s very important).”

On the work front, Sunny Deol is set to return to the big screen with his high-octane action film Jaat, which hits theatres on April 10. Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan is gearing up for his next major action project, King, which is expected to go on floors next month.
