Shah Rukh Khan is in no hurry to begin shooting King. His upcoming action film, which also stars his daughter Suhana Khan, has been delayed. The shoot was earlier expected to begin by May or June, but now it has been pushed to July or August, as per reports.
King Shoot Delayed Again?
As per mid-day, SRK has decided to take more time as he wants the script to be perfect. Since King is Suhana’s big-screen debut and their first film together, the superstar is being extra careful about every detail.
A source revealed, “Scripting is going on. The makers want to ensure they have a terrific script at hand before the camera starts rolling. King not only sees Suhana coming on the big screen for the first time, but also features the father-daughter duo together. Keeping these factors in mind, Shah Rukh wants the team to take their time to polish the material and deliver an ambitious movie.”
The film is being helmed by Siddharth Anand, who previously directed Pathaan and War. He is co-writing the script with filmmaker Sujoy Ghosh, who was earlier expected to direct the film himself. Both are now working closely to refine the storyline.
King is among the most awaited releases of 2026. In the film, Shah Rukh Khan reportedly plays a hitman, while Suhana plays his trainee. The cast also includes Abhishek Bachchan as the main villain and Munjya actor Abhay Verma in a key role.
Shah Rukh Khan had earlier said that King will be a mix of high-stakes action and deep emotions. Fans are especially eager to see him share screen space with Suhana for the first time.
SRK And Family Vacate Mannat For Renovation
Meanwhile, the Khans are also making changes in their personal space. Their iconic house, Mannat in Bandra, is currently under renovation. Shah Rukh, Gauri, and the kids have temporarily shifted to a luxury apartment in the Pali Hill area. They are expected to stay there for around two years while Mannat gets its makeover.
Though the film is slightly delayed, SRK wants everything to be just right. He’s making sure that the film’s script and execution meet the high expectations around King.
