According to Lets OTT Global, “Dulquer Salman’s most-awaited #Kurup deal finalised with a leading OTT platform for a direct premiere. Expect the official announcement soon.”

Although while talking about the digital release of the film, Dulquer Salmaan expressed his interest in sticking to the theatrical release for Kurup. “No, Kurup is something we will definitely release theatrically. It is a film that is conceived and made for the theatrical experience,” he was quoted as saying.

It’s unclear whether Dulquer, who also produced Kurup, has changed his mind since then. Many Malayalam filmmakers have gone for the OTT route as the pandemic appears to be far from finished and theatres in Kerala remain shuttered due to the government’s lockdown regulations to contain the spread of coronavirus.
