Yaariyan 2: Plot
Yaariyan 2 which revolves around the bond between three cousins who move to Mumbai from Shimla and face various challenges in their personal and professional lives. Laadli (Divya Khosla Kumar) is a bubbly and cheerful girl who marries Abhay (Yash Dasgupta), a stern and aloof businessman, to please her parents. Shikhar (Meezaan Jafri) is a bike racer who has a troubled relationship with his father and gets banned from racing after an accident. Bajju (Pearl V Puri) is a software engineer who hates his job and falls in love with Shona (Warina Hussain), a model and actress. The film also introduces Ikrooh (Anaswara Rajan), a paraplegic girl who becomes Shikhar’s friend and motivator, and Devi (Priya Prakash Varrier), Abhay’s ex-girlfriend who re-enters his life.
Yaariyan 2: Performances
The film boasts of a star-studded cast, but not all of them deliver convincing performances. Divya Khosla Kumar tries hard to be the lively and lovable Laadli, but her acting skills are not up to the mark. Yash Dasgupta does a decent job as the brooding Abhay, but his chemistry with Divya is lacking. Meezaan Jafri is impressive as the rebellious and passionate Shikhar, and he shares a good rapport with Anaswara Rajan, who plays the role of Ikrooh with grace and dignity. Pearl V Puri is charming as the fun-loving Bajju, but his romance with Warina Hussain is superficial and clichéd. However, film relies heavily on songs and montages to show the bond between the cousins, but they do not create enough impact. The film also drags on for too long, with a runtime of 148 minutes.
