Akshay Kumar’s Bhooth Bangla Crosses Rs 100 Crore Nett In India, Holds Firm On Second Friday; Set For Big Jump Over The Weekend

Akshay Kumar’s Bhooth Bangla has found exactly the kind of staying power the Hindi box office rewards. After a strong first week, the horror comedy held its ground on second Friday with Rs 6.25 crore nett, pushing its total India collection to Rs 101.10 crore nett and taking the film past the coveted Rs 100 crore mark.

The milestone gives the film a clear commercial edge at a time when sustaining momentum beyond the opening weekend has become increasingly difficult. For Kumar, it is also a welcome theatrical success driven not just by opening-day curiosity, but by steady footfalls deep into week two.

Second Friday Hold Pushes Bhooth Bangla Past The Century Mark

Priyadarshan’s Horror Comedy Mix Gives The Film Its Theatrical Pull

Beyond the numbers, Bhooth Bangla has benefited from a package that feels designed for the big screen. The film is a 2026 Hindi-language horror comedy directed by Priyadarshan and produced by Akshay Kumar, Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor under Cape of Good Films and Balaji Motion Pictures. Its cast includes Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, Tabu, Wamiqa Gabbi, Rajpal Yadav and Jisshu Sengupta.

The story blends supernatural comedy with themes linked to Indian mythology and black magic, while placing its characters inside a haunted setup built for confusion, jump scares and ensemble humour. That mix, combined with Priyadarshan’s long-standing comfort with comic chaos and Kumar’s familiarity with broad theatrical entertainers, appears to have helped the film connect with a wide audience base.

What Bhooth Bangla’s Success Means For Akshay Kumar’s Current Run

For Akshay Kumar, the film arrives as a timely boost in a packed and closely watched career phase. His 2024 release Sarfira, directed by Sudha Kongara and co-starring Radhika Madan and Paresh Rawal, was part of his recent push toward varied material. Before that, OMG 2 in 2023 emerged as one of his better-received films in recent years and posted a successful box office run.

Seen in that context, Bhooth Bangla strengthens Kumar’s current lineup by giving him a solid theatrical winner in 2026. Looking ahead, his confirmed upcoming project includes Welcome to the Jungle, keeping him firmly in the mainstream event-film space even as he continues to move between comedy, drama and franchise-driven cinema.
