This film is creating a lot of buzz online and from Bandra to Juhu, probably in Andheri (only west in YRF lane). The truth is the majority of the audience is waiting for reviews to come back as advances don’t suggest any urgency to watch the film on day one.
Smaller towns are far from satisfactory in advances and even metros are less than Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Jugjugg Jeeyo but a little higher than Samrat Prithviraj.
The only metric to gauge real buzz is to just walk to any cinema and at the ticket counter ask anyone. In the case of Shamshera, the response is that Ranbir Kapoor is a star but he is a youth icon, in this period film with the beard and that’s an initial deterrent especially when promo of his other film Brahmastra is out in younger look, far bigger film and cast with his better half, Alia Bhatt.
