Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Alia Bhatt bring together a magnum opus film In Gangubai Kathiawadi and it was meant for bigger screens. With such two big names attached to the film, audience was suppose to give it some chance in cinemas and that is what happened on opening day.
Film has opened to 30-35% occupancy in Maharashtra and Gujarat circuit in addition to decent opening all over. Film grew through out the day as reviews were good too.
As per early estimates, film should collect 10.50 cr nett on opening day and that has set it for a good weekend number and it’s a fab result in post pandemic era. It should collect in excess of 28 cr nett over weekend.
Few cynics are crying about death of bollywood at box office but things will change when few biggies will arrive which are as massy as some so called big south films are!
