Huge release from South didn’t create big waves in Hindi market. Pushpa was star studded film with huge pre release buzz but competition from Spider – Man and 50% occupancy in big market like Maharashtra meant struggle for the film.
Pushpa’ (Hindi dubbed) nets Rs. 3 crore-plus on day 1. Telugu version in non-South India collects around Rs. 75-80 lakh. So, non-South India total is around Rs. 3.75-plus crore.
It’s not a bad number but it’s not great either. It’s an average number and it might grow over the weekend to gain some momentum.
The film is about red sandalwood smuggling and is produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y Ravi Shankar in collaboration with Muttamsetty Media. It also marks Malayalam actor Fahadh Faasil’s Telugu debut. Fahadh plays Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat, a character who would be pitted against Allu Arjun’s Pushpa.
