Exclusive box office report: Ayushmann Khurrana starrer Anek is a washout at the box office

Anek is Ayushmann's second collaboration with director Anubhav, following the 2019 film Article 15.

Ayushmann Khurrana’s Anek started with average reviews and had a poor Friday. It dropped on day two itself and then had a flat Sunday.

The film had a disappointing first weekend at the box office. The film failed to entice audiences to the theaters. Anubhav Sinha directed the film, which stresses the insurgency in North-East India and the need for a unified India, and it was produced by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series and Anubhav Sinha’s Benaras Mediaworks. After earning Rs 1.75 crore on Saturday, May 28, Anek’s earnings further remained low on Sunday, May 29.

With a poor 5.61 cr nett weekend total, the film will struggle to cross the 10-12 cr nett lifetime number.

The film is one of the biggest disasters ever for Ayushmann Khurrana.
