Ranbir Kapoor’s Shamshera is releasing coming Friday, on 22nd July worldwide in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu including IMAX versions. This will be his first release after the blockbuster ‘Sanju’, which hit the screens in 2018. Ranbir essays the titular role in this action film.
The film’s advances started on Sunday and sold more than 6500 tickets in first 24 hours and by end of day two this was close to 8500 tickets. Shamshera is indicating an opening day of 11-13 cr nett and it seems with major bookings on Wednesday and Thursday, film will be challenging highest opening day number for Hindi films, 14.20 cr nett of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2.
Following was the status till Tuesday Morning:
National chains (Pvr+Inox+Cinepolis)
10300 tickets for Friday
19800 tickets for weekend
Non national chains
9000 for Friday
18200 for weekend
Total
19300 for Friday
38000 for weekend Following are the length of both halves of the film:
1st half
1 hour 27 minutes 12 seconds
2nd half
1 hour 11 minutes 31 seconds
Total
2 hours 38 minutes 43 seconds
This Ranbir Kapoor starrer will be releasing in 3800-4000 screens as there is no major competition from Hollywood, Bollywood or regional cinema, as almost all previous releases are either flop or lost steam at the box office.
The ticket pricing on basic level like Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 will also help for masses to come in the big numbers. It seems that Ranbir Kapoor will make a grand comeback at the box office with this one.
As per early trends, film should breach 13 cr nett day one and it should target by end of Thursday a total of 16-17 cr nett opening day which looks tough the moment.
‘Shamshera’ will feature Ranbir Kapoor in a double role. Apart from Ranbir, this film also features Sanjay Dutt and Vaani Kapoor in the lead roles.
