Shahid Kapoor starrer Jersey was released today finally after postponing release dates a couple of times. The film was released on over 2500 screens in India and more than 800-900 screens overseas.

As expected film opened to very poor numbers today morning all across the board. The film was below 30% in most of the centers and premium properties like PVR Juhu in Mumbai had less than 30 audiences.

The film will struggle from here onwards and it will find it tough to cross even 5 cr nett on day one though the expectation was of double-digit. Even a decent growth over the weekend will not be enough as it will need massive jumps which seem difficult at the moment.

Another flop and bad marketing to bad songs to the pathetic trend of south remakes bite the dust!

Jersey is the official Hindi version of the blockbuster Telugu film of the same name, which won a National Award. Shahid has paired up with his father Pankaj Kapur after the success of Mausam. The film was supposed to be released last week, but it was accused of plagiarism, but the judge permitted it to be released.
