Vivek Agnihotri’s film The Kashmir Files is doing outstanding at the box office. Despite being developed on a shoestring budget with no promotion and marketing, as well as a slew of problems, the film is exploding in theatres. On March 11, The Kashmir Files was released in theatres. The film is set in 1990 during the Kashmir insurgency and stars Anupam Kher and Mithun Chakraborty.
The Kashmir Files had a phenomenal opening weekend at the box office, grossing Rs 3.55 crore on its first day. Despite the odds, massive numbers flocked to the theatres even on the fourth day to see the film. It even outperformed other films currently showing in theatres in several areas. While The Kashmir Files had a limited release, the number of screens and shows has since been raised due to popular demand.
The film is higher on Monday than Saturday by collecting 15.05 cr, which now makes the total collection of the film 42.20 cr nett.
