The Tamil film Beast dropped massively on Monday as it collected only around 3 crore nett in Tamil Nadu. The film had started with a 27 crore nett opening day on Wednesday but is now practically down and out. This is not really surprisingly as a similar thing had happened to a similar Valimai a few weeks back.
The six day collections of Beast in Tamil Nadu are 68 crore nett and the 100 it needs to cover is probably a dream. Valimai did a little under 85 crore nett and that is probably going to be the target for this film but Beast was slightly bigger film.
The Hindi version of the film Raw collected just 10-12 lakhs nett on Monday and will be practically out by the end of the week with final collections to be short of 2.50 crore nett. The all India collections of Beast will probably be under 4 crore nett on Monday and 96 crore nett in six days.
Bottom line – now south films need business from Hindi market to recover cost and to sustain hype/stardom.
