Sunny Deol‘s much awaited war sequel Border 2 is finally arriving in theatres on January 23, 2026. The advance booking has kicked off strongly and the film is now heading towards a massive opening day. The Varun Dhawan co-starrer has sold around 1,45,000 tickets at the two national chains before release.
The war drama also stars Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty in pivotal roles. Directed by Anurag Singh and produced by T-Series and JP Films, the film is one of the most anticipated releases of 2026.
Border 2 Advance Booking Numbers
The film has registered solid sales at the national chains crossing 1,45,000 tickets. Here is the breakdown of final advance booking Wednesday midnight:
PVR + Inox: 1,16,000
Cinepolis: 29,000
Total: 1,45,000 tickets
The sales are equally impressive outside national chains.
Expected Final Advance And Opening Day
While the initial numbers are impressive, the expectations were slightly higher. When sales started, it appeared the film was heading towards 200,000 to 250,000 tickets at national chains. However, the final tally is to settle around 145,000 tickets which is still terrific.
In terms of overall advance booking revenue, Border 2 is likely to clock around Rs 10 to 12 crore nett for the first day. With strong walkup audiences expected on release day, the film is heading towards a Rs 35 crore nett opening day.
While the ticket count appears lower than Gadar 2, the revenue difference will be smaller due to Border 2 having blockbuster ticket pricing. Additionally, Gadar 2 faced capacity constraints due to its clash with OMG 2, which limited walkups at various centres. Border 2 has no such limitations and will benefit from better walkup potential.
