Sunny Deol‘s much awaited war sequel Border 2 is finally arriving in theatres on January 23, 2026. The Varun Dhawan co-starrer has sold around 1,45,000 tickets at the two national chains before release.
The advance booking finished strongly and the film is now heading towards a massive lifetime number with riding on huge 1st weekend aided by National holiday.
The war drama also stars Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty in pivotal roles. Directed by Anurag Singh and produced by T-Series and JP Films, the film is one of the most anticipated releases of 2026.
Border 2 Drops Big On Weekdays After Big 1st Weekend
Border 2 released in middle of usual social media negativity but massive anticipation among audience. Film collected 32.10 crore net on day one which was very good but still less than the expectations. Film grew by 25% on day two with 49.59 crore net number. But on day three film has gone into beast mode as it crossed 57.20 crore net number.
On national holiday 26th January, film grew further and crossed 63.59 crore net. Film held strongly on Tuesday with only 30% drop and collected 23.31 crore net. Film witnessed first steep drop of 30 percent on Wednesday day 6 and collected 15.04 crore net. Film dropped further with 13.14 crore net on Thursday day 7. This trend means film might struggle in 2nd weekend and that might limit its lifetime total.
Film has 7 – day total of 244.97 crore net which is a fantastic result and makes film already a hit.
Border 2 Heading For 80 Crore In 2nd Week
War saga managed to hold well on 2nd Friday due to low competition from new releases. Film collected 12.53 crore net on day 8 and then it jumped big by 65% on 2nd Saturday to collect 20.17 crore net. Film again grew by 20% on 2nd Sunday and collected 24.22 crore net. Film scored solid 56.92 crore net over 2nd weekend. Film added 6.52 crore net on 2nd Monday.
Film has total of 308.41 crore net and film is set to cross 325 crore net after 2nd week and it’s on course for 350 crore net lifetime though 400 crore plus lifetime looks difficult now.
