Exclusive: Laal Singh Chaddha & Rakshabandhan: Threats loom large over BO performance of both biggies as initial prospects are terrible, industry under shock?

Let’s hope for the best otherwise there will be big introspection inside the industry!

Mumbai’s weather is gloomy, and so is the box office because two major superstars, akshay Kumar and Aamir Khan, are releasing their newest film and the response is lukewarm. They have worked tirelessly to promote the movie in every city and on every channel. However, the early reaction is terrible. The total advance booking for LSC is less than that of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, which is shocking. Rakshabandhan’s booking is as much as Samrat Prithviraj and even below than that. There were hopes up until a few days before the release, but nothing has changed. LSC, on one hand sold 40K tickets in advances whereas RakshaBandhan sold 25K which is too less than the expectations.

Tomorrow’s release of both movies is the subject of excessive speculations, and as a trade website, we are doing everything we can to spread positivity and a good vibe about both movies. Despite the numerous obstacles that these filmmakers must overcome. There is also the boycott group for both movies who are doing everything possible to not let the movies do well. The string of flops shaked Bollwyood films and very few films performed like Sooryavanshi, Kashmir Files, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, JugJugg Jeeyo, and to some extent, Ek Villain Returns, few movies are doing well at the box office.

All eyes are currently on the two major releases. Laal Singh Chaddha’s press show was in the afternoon, and rakshabandhan is presently in the evening. The atmosphere in the industry is highly depressing and gloomy.

Overall, both movies have a difficult path unless reviews turn out to be really positive or audiences turn out in large numbers tomorrow, on August 15, or over the Rakshabandhan festival. Otherwise, things appear to be quite improbable. Tomorrow, we might witness the turnaround. Let’s hope for the best otherwise there will be big introspection inside the industry!
