Chand Mera Dil: Dharma Productions Rolls Out Rs 149 And Rs 199 Release-Day Pricing, Eyes Double-Digit Day One For Lakshya And Ananya Panday Film

A Rs 149 and Rs 199 release-day ticket strategy is not just a pricing decision, it is a loud theatrical statement, and Dharma Productions has made one with Chand Mera Dil. The unusually aggressive move has jolted trade attention instantly, positioning the Lakshya and Ananya Panday romance as one of the most closely watched openings of the month even before advance sales fully kick in.

Cinemas have been instructed to keep Chand Mera Dil tickets at highly accessible rates on Friday, May 22. All shows before 5:00 pm on release day will be priced at Rs 149, while shows after 5:00 pm will be priced at Rs 199. The reduced rates apply to regular seats only, and not to recliners, luxury formats, or premium classes. Chand Mera Dil is produced by Dharma Productions, and they are also distributing the film.

This offer will be valid only on the day of release. On Saturday and Sunday, theatres have been instructed to go for regular weekend rates.

Release-Day Pricing Becomes The Key Trade Talking Point

The strategy is valid only for day one. From Saturday onward, theatres will shift to regular weekend pricing, making Friday the crucial window for Chand Mera Dil to convert interest into strong occupancy. The pricing is clearly aimed at younger moviegoers, particularly students and the under-25 audience, and that has become central to the film’s opening-day calculations.

That is also why the film is now being discussed in the trade as a genuine double-digit contender on day one. With the youth audience expected to respond strongly to the entry-level pricing, Chand Mera Dil is eyeing a day-one start in the Rs 9 crore to Rs 11 crore nett range, a notable number for a romantic drama led by young stars. Advance booking for the film opens on May 18, which should offer the first public indication of how strongly the release-day strategy is landing with audiences.

The pricing gamble also puts a sharper spotlight on the package behind the film, from its director to its lead pair, both of whom bring distinct curiosity value into the release.

Vivek Soni Returns With A Youth-Driven Romance

Chand Mera Dil is directed by Vivek Soni and stars Ananya Panday and Lakshya in the lead. The film is backed by Dharma Productions, with Karan Johar associated as producer, and it arrives in cinemas on May 22, 2026. The romantic drama centres on two individuals whose relationship is tested by emotion, distance and changing circumstances.

Soni is best known for directing Meenakshi Sundareshwar and Aap Jaisa Koi, and Chand Mera Dil marks his return to the romance space with a theatrical film mounted around fresh casting, music-led appeal and a youth-skewed emotional pitch. That combination has helped the film stand apart in the run-up to release.

Lakshya And Ananya Panday Enter A Crucial Career Phase

Ananya Panday’s recent screen run has included Call Me Bae in 2024 and CTRL in 2024, followed by Kesari Chapter 2 in 2025. She also featured in Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, which released in 2025. With Chand Mera Dil arriving on May 22, 2026, she returns to theatres in a romance that leans heavily on youthful appeal and music-led buzz.

For Lakshya, Kill in 2024 was the breakthrough theatrical release that sharply raised his profile followed by sensational The Bads Of Bollywood. Chand Mera Dil now gives him a very different mainstream showcase, shifting from action intensity to a full-fledged romantic lead opposite Ananya Panday.
