Chhaava Becomes Highest Single-Day And First Week Grosser At MovieMax

With jaw-dropping numbers, the film has shattered records, making it the highest single-day and first-week grosser in MovieMax history.

In just one week, Chhaava raked in a massive Rs 310.50 crore worldwide, with Rs 225.28 crore coming from India alone. These figures have officially made it Bollywood’s biggest hit of 2025. The film’s grand success has cemented its place as a milestone in Indian cinema.

Sharing the milestone, makers wrote, “Celebrating a historic achievement! 🎉 Huge congratulations to the entire Maddock team for a record-breaking single-day and first-week box office success at MovieMax cinemas !”

Directed by Laxman Utekar, Chhaava brings to life the heroic tale of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. Vicky Kaushal, known for his dedication to his craft, underwent rigorous training for six months to master horse riding and weapon combat. His transformation into the legendary warrior has been one of the film’s biggest highlights.

Additionally, Rashmika Mandanna plays Yesubai, delivering a powerful performance that adds depth to the film. Akshaye Khanna’s portrayal of Emperor Aurangzeb has also drawn praise, bringing an intense edge to the antagonist’s role.

The film features a stellar supporting cast, including Ashutosh Rana, Divya Dutta, and Neil Bhoopalam, each leaving a strong impact.

Recognising its historical and cultural importance, the governments of Madhya Pradesh and Goa have declared Chhaava tax-free, allowing more people to experience the film without financial barriers. This move is expected to further boost its box office numbers in the coming weeks.
