Cocktail 2 Sells 70,000 Advance Tickets In National Chains, Ranks 4Th Best Of 2026 Behind Dhurandhar The Revenge, Border 2 And Bhooth Bangla

Cocktail 2 has entered the final stretch before release with a notable box office marker. The Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna starrer has sold 70,000 opening-day tickets across the national chains, enough to place it as the fourth biggest advance booking among Hindi releases in 2026, behind only Dhurandhar The Revenge, Border 2 and Bhooth Bangla.

That figure stands out because Cocktail 2 is not an all-out action spectacle or a franchise sequel built on war drama or horror comedy muscle. It is a glossy relationship film, and yet its pre-release traction suggests strong multiplex appeal and real interest in the film’s lead trio. The booking momentum also marks a sharp rise from its early sales, indicating that awareness built steadily as release day approached.

Cocktail 2 Joins 2026’s Top Advance Openers

The latest advance booking total gives Cocktail 2 a significant position in this year’s theatrical race. Ranking behind Dhurandhar The Revenge, Border 2 and Bhooth Bangla puts it in elite company, especially for a romantic drama space title. In the current Hindi box office climate, where front-loaded mass entertainers usually dominate early sales, that is a meaningful achievement.

Directed by Homi Adajania, Cocktail 2 stars Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead. The film is backed by Maddock Films and Luv Films, with writing credits shared by Luv Ranjan and Tarun Jain. It serves as a spiritual sequel to the 2012 film Cocktail, but follows a fresh story and a new set of characters. The film released on 19 June 2026.

The premise centres on a contemporary love triangle shaped by friendship, romance and emotional conflict, staying in the polished urban relationship zone that the original film was known for. With this kind of start in the national chains, the film heads into release with healthy urban support already visible.

Shahid Kapoor’s Recent And Upcoming Work

For Shahid Kapoor, Cocktail 2 arrives after a mixed run across formats. His recent releases include the streaming crime drama series Farzi in 2023 on Prime Video, the theatrical romantic comedy Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya in 2024 with Kriti Sanon, Deva in 2025, and O’Romeo in February 2026. Among these, Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya emerged as a commercial success and reminded the trade of his pull in urban mainstream cinema.

Cocktail 2 : 60,000

O’Romeo: 33,000

TBAMUJ: 31,000

Deva: 18,000

That context makes Cocktail 2 especially important. It reunites him with Kriti Sanon in a genre that has previously worked for him, while also pairing him with Rashmika Mandanna in a high-visibility theatrical project. As of now, Cocktail 2 is his key current release in theatres, and its strong advance suggests he may be heading toward one of his better opening-day performances in recent years.
