Drishyam 3 Kerala Box Office: Mohanlal Starrer Holds Strong On First Monday, Races Toward Rs 50 Crore

Mohanlal’s return as Georgekutty has turned into a full-blown theatrical celebration in Kerala. After a thunderous extended opening weekend, Drishyam 3 showed the kind of Monday hold that separates event films from regular releases, keeping the franchise’s box office momentum firmly alive.

The Malayalam thriller added Rs 6.60 crore gross on its first Monday in Kerala, taking its five-day total to Rs 45.20 crore gross. That puts the film within striking distance of the Rs 50 crore mark in the state, a milestone it is expected to cross soon if the current pace continues.

Drishyam 3 Holds Strong On First Monday In Kerala

The first Monday collection of Drishyam 3 came with an approximately 40 percent drop from its opening day, which is a healthy trend for a film that had already exhausted massive demand across the first four days. The film opened at Rs 11 crore gross in Kerala, followed by Rs 8.80 crore on Friday, Rs 9.20 crore on Saturday, and Rs 9.60 crore on Sunday.

That trajectory suggests the film is not merely riding nostalgia, but also benefiting from sustained family audience turnout and franchise loyalty. With weekdays now in play, Drishyam 3 is eyeing a first-week finish in the Rs 57 crore to Rs 60 crore range. The bigger talking point, however, is its long-run potential. If weekday stability continues and the second weekend brings another major surge, the Mohanlal starrer has a realistic shot at entering the Rs 100 crore club in Kerala.

The franchise carries enormous emotional equity in the state. The original Drishyam became an industry-defining success, while Drishyam 2 skipped theatres and premiered directly on OTT during the pandemic era. That makes Drishyam 3 the first theatrical reunion of Georgekutty with his audience in over a decade, and the response reflects that pent-up demand.

Georgekutty’S Return Revives A Landmark Thriller Legacy

Drishyam 3 is a 2026 Malayalam crime thriller directed by Jeethu Joseph, with Mohanlal reprising his iconic role as Georgekutty. The film also features Meena, Esther Anil, and Asha Sharath in key roles, continuing the family-driven suspense drama that made the franchise a landmark in Malayalam cinema.

The story once again follows Georgekutty and his family as the shadows of the past return to disturb their fragile peace. The premise stays rooted in the franchise’s signature blend of domestic tension, moral ambiguity, and tightly wound mystery.

At the Kerala box office, Drishyam 3 has emerged as one of 2026’s strongest Malayalam performers so far. Its next major test will be sustaining footfalls beyond the first week, especially as it chases the state’s all-time top grossers.
