Laapataa Ladies, the upcoming comedy film from Jio Studios and Aamir Khan Productions, released last weekend all over. The film, which is released has already impressed the audiences with its hilarious trailer and catchy songs like DoubtWa, Sajni and Beda Paar. The film is directed by Kiran Rao.
Laapata Ladies Grows Marginally On Day Two
Kiran Rao’s directorial venture took a poor start at box office on day one despite heavy promotions, city tours and star studded premiere. Laapata Ladies got decent reviews but it didn’t translate in any numbers.
Film opened to poor numbers and never ever grew big throughout the day. Film crossed 1.02 crore nett on day one which was poor. Film needed big jump over the weekend in order to score some sort of number. But film managed to grow marginally and collected 1.40 crore nett. Film again grew marginally on day 3 and collected 1.70 crore nett.
Film has 3 – day total of 4.12 crore nett India and it will cross 8 crore nett lifetime which is way below par. Film failed to connect with larger set of audience and its a flop. Film also failed to score in overseas and collected poor 1.40 crore over weekend.

Laapata Ladies Marks Kiran Rao’s Second Directorial Venture
The film marks the return of Kiran Rao as a director after a gap of 13 years, since her debut film Dhobi Ghat in 2011. Coming from the producers of Delhi Belly, Dangal, and Peepli Live, the film is sure to deliver a humorous treat on its release. Moreover, The film has also received a standing ovation at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).
