Today Aditya Roy Kapur and Mrunal Thakur starrer ‘Gumraah’ released in cinemas. Film is remake of 2019 south film ‘Thadam’ and produced by Murad Khetani’s Cine1 and Bhushan Kumar’s T Series. Film also has Vedika Pinto in brief role. It’s first double role appearance for Aditya Roy Kapur.
As expected, film opened to dull response though reviews were not bad. Due to flop music and average casting, film opened to poor numbers. As per early estimate, film should collect around 1.10 cr nett on day one which is poor number considering Good Friday holiday.
Film will struggle to cross 6 cr nett weekend and 11-12 cr nett lifetime. It’s another disaster for Aditya Roy Kapur after ‘Rashtrakavach Om’.
Gumraah Is A Taut Thriller, Suffers Due To Below Par Technical Aspects
While investigating a homicide, Inspector Shivani Mathur (Mrunal Thakur) discovers the main suspect has a lookalike (Aditya Roy Kapur) Arjun Saigal and Ronnie ; and the evidence point to both of them. Things turn complicated when secrets related to the case unravel. Who is the real killer and will Shivani crack the case?
Film is average watch and one should not mind watching it on a lazy afternoon. But it’s hard to believe that many people will turn up to watch this remake in cinemas. Lack of Chartbuster and below par direction are the main culprits of the film.
