Over the four-day extended weekend, Akshay Kumar’s BellBottom grossed 12.65 crore. On Sunday, the Bollywood film, which was the first Hindi film to be released in theatres since the second wave of Covid-19 shut them down, grossed 4.50 crore.
BellBottom saw a 35 percent increase on Sunday alone, thanks to the Raksha Bandhan celebration. The film, which was released on August 19, struggled to break the three-crore mark in its first two days. On its fifth day at the box office, the Akshay Kumar starrer again sees a downfall by collecting 2 cr nett at the box office, which is 55 percent decrease than that of Sunday collection.

In states like Maharashtra and Kerala, theatres are still closed, which is expected to have had a significant impact on box office numbers. Areas with a large population, such as Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat, have not done as well as expected. According to the research, the regions that typically collect a large box office collection on events such as Raksha Bandhan did not exhibit larger increase than Delhi NCR.
