In May, during the IPL finals, Aamir Khan released the theatrical trailer of the much-acclaimed film Laal Singh Chaddha. The trailer received a mixed response, which surprised Aamir and his crew because they had expected an unequivocally positive response based on the media’s feedback on the Perfectionist. And now, a production insider exclusively reveals that Aamir has seen the criticism favourably and is recutting not only the movie but also the trailer.
Laal Singh Chaddha is Aamir Khan’s next release after his last disaster Thugs Of Hindustan. It’s an official remake of cult Oscar award winning Hollywood film Forrest Gump.
This Aamir Khan starrer will also face Akshay Kumar starrer Rakshabandhan at box office which is another big challenge. As of now film is expected to open around 20 cr nett which is good but not great considering star cast, hype and budget.
As per our sources, Aamir Khan seems worried and is trying all the tricks in books to push the film. The next trick is showcasing some footage featuring Shah Rukh Khan to create hype as this film marks rare occassion of reuniting of these two big stars.
The next trick is buying spots in upcoming cricket matches and going all out on social media with influencers to exhibitors to secure bigger screen size.
For the uninitiated, on August 11, Laal Singh Chaddha will compete with Akshay Kumar’s Raksha Bandhan at the box office. On the occasion of the Raksha Bandhan holiday, which stretches into Independence Day, the two movies will clash.
