Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui earned 22 crores in its first week at the box office. It may have been closer to the 23 crore milestone, but Spider-Man: No Way Home was released on Thursday, which had an influence on the box office.

Nonetheless, one would have hoped for a lot more from the film. In fact, given its benefits, the first week of 30-35 crores should have ideally come in even in the post-pandemic environment. However, this was not the case, since weekend growth was adequate but not exceptional, and weekday hold was adequate but not ideal. The weekend should have been in the 16-17 crore area following a 3.75 crore opening day, and Monday collections should have been in the 2.75-3 crore level. None of this occurred, and as a result, the collection remained lower than anticipated.

From here, the Ayushmann Khurrana and Vaani Kapoor film can’t anticipate much, as the Hollywood blockbuster has taken over the country, and the South is already ruled by Pushpa. Though the film will surpass the 25 crore barrier, it will face stiff competition from Tadap, which is approaching the 30 crore milestone.
