Ajay Devgn Starrer Drishyam 2 is now a box office tsunami with massive 104 cr nett plus in week one. So it was natural that new release Bhediya starring Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon will find it difficult. Film is termed as creature comedy and produced by Jio Studios and Maddock Films. It’s directed by Amar Kaushik who delivered Stree and Bala.
Bhediya opened today in middle of decent positive reviews but lack of any significant advance bookings meant slow start. Film JD low interest either due to cast or genre. Film failed to sell even 30k tickets by Thursday midnight.
Following are the numbers for Drishyam 2 and Bhediya at 3 pm in national chains :
Bhediya 1st Friday :
PVR 78 lacs
Inox 48 lacs
Cinepolis 36 lacs
Total 1.62 cr
Drishyam 2 on 2nd Friday :
PVR 1.05 Cr
Inox 65 lacs
Cinepolis 41 lacs
Total 2.11 Cr
Going by this trend, Bhediya will collect not more than 6-6.5 cr nett unless evening sees big jump. Now big jumps over weekend can only take it close to 28-30 cr nett which will be still strictly average.
Drishyam 2 will easily surpass 7.75 – 8 cr nett and with jumps over weekend, if can easily surpass 33-35 cr nett weekend.
