Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is all set to deliver third mega hit of the year with his upcoming film Dunki, directed by Rajkumar Hirani.
Dunki is a comedy-drama film that marks the first collaboration between Shah Rukh Khan and Rajkumar Hirani, who is known for his blockbuster films like Munna Bhai series, PK, 3 Idiots and Sanju. The film also stars Boman Irani, Vicky Kaushal and Taapsee Pannu in pivotal roles. The film is co-written by Hirani, Abhijat Joshi and Kanika Dhillon.
Dunki Defies Genre And Mid Week Release Factor
SRK’s Dunki has taken superb start on expected lines. Film has done well on day one despite being mid week release and drama genre. Film opened to good occupancy and continued to increase as day passed. Though word of mouth seems mixed but still film should sail through on power of family audience and urban class.
The top 3 chains, PVR & Inxo and Cinepolis are headed to collect in the vicinity of 14.55 on the first day, contributing 55 to 57 percent to the total business.
As per early trends, film should collected around 29.20 cr nett on day one. Film will face stiff clash tomorrow onwards from Salaar and needs good trending over weekend for good lifetime run over holidays in next 10-12 days.

As expected, SRK starrer Dunki should cross 2.83 million USD (23.50 cr) on day one which makes for fantastic worldwide opening. Film should cross 58-60 cr on day one in terms of worldwide gross.

Solid Advance Booking Numbers For Dunki In National Chains
Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki saw massive response in advance booking. Advances started Saturday in selected places and full fledge by Sunday noon. In matter of couple of days, film crossed 1,00,000 tickets by end of Monday. Film crossed 1,50,000 tickets in national chains by end of Tuesday. Film has crossed 2,30,000 tickets by end of Wednesday.
