Dark gritty thrillers can not work in present box office scenario and so dismal opening day number of ‘Kuttey’ was no surprise. Same old Vishal Bharadwaj wine in new Aasmaan Bharadwaj bottle didn’t find praise from critics either, unlike Arjun Kapoor’s critics’ fav ‘Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar’.
Film collected poor 1.07 cr nett on day one that too despite distinct growth from evening onwards. Film was lower than similar genre films ‘An Action Hero’ starring Ayushmann Khurrana and ‘Hit The First Case’ starring Rajkumar Rao.
Today film needed to jump big for any faint chance of some respectable lifetime total but as expected, film failed to do so with almost negligible 10% growth on day two. Film added 1.18 cr nett on Saturday and two day total of 2.25 cr nett.
Film will cross 3.75 cr nett over weekend and lifetime will be under 8-9 cr nett. Disaster !
