The film is directed by Siddharth Anand, post the success of War and Pathaan. Fighter, which released today on January 25 coinciding with Republic Day holiday tomorrow.
Top Opening Days At Box Office For Hrithik Roshan, Fighter Is 4th
Hrithik Roshan’s career at box office has been full of ups and downs in last two decades. Last few years have been mixed bag as his films failed to open and score big except YRF’s Spy Universe film War. Fighter is big one for actor as it’s directed by Siddharth Anand who gave him his biggest hit War as well as big opener Bang Bang.
But despite excitement among trade, Fighter failed to fly in advance bookings and that is why it opened with below average number on day one. As per early trend, film will collect around 24-25 cr nett on day one which is pale in comparison with big films of last year. This will be Hrithik’s 4th best opening behind War, Bang Bang and Krrish 3. Bang Bang was released 10 years back and Fighter failed to beat even that film which is a sign of worry for stardom of Hrithik as well as for Siddharth Anand whose record is mixed outside YRF.

Fighter Fails To Score Big On Day One Due To Poor Advance Bookings
Opening day of the film at box office equals to star power of the film. On this front, Fighter failed miserably. Last year on 25th January, same director and actress scored all time record opening due to presence of superstar Shah Rukh Khan. Same date same actress same director and almost similar genre but Fighter will fall short by 60-65%. It means that Hrithik and Deepika failed to create any sense of urgency for audience to watch the film on day one and now content will take over from here onwards.
With only 1.45 lacs ticket sold in national chains for day one, film was always going to struggle for decent opening day number. Film opened to poor 15-20% occupancy and it is expected to improve from evening onwards as tomorrow is big national holiday. As per early trends, film will struggle to cross 25 cr nett day one which was bare minimum target for the film.
