About the film 2018:

The film is set against the backdrop of the 2018 floods, and we are introduced to multiple characters who are at different junctures in their life. The teaser of the movie recalls the horror of the 2018 Kerala floods.

The teaser opens with a warning from the forecast department about a cyclone in Kerala. It also asks its team to be in the control room. And then in just a few minutes, the state is seen sinking owing to heavy rains and faulty dam management. As families try to hold on to each other, authorities are seen struggling to keep the situation under control. The Indian government declared it a Level 3 calamity or ‘calamity of a severe nature’.

The film is a poignant movie that tells the story of the survival of Kerala during the devastating floods that occurred in 2018. The movie is a structurally generic disaster film with a predictable storyline. The film’s cast and crew have done a commendable job in bringing the story to life. The movie is a tribute to the brave Keralites who fought together during the flood that drenched the state in 2018. The film is a must-watch for those who want to relive the memories of the 2018 Kerala floods and for those who want to know more about the disaster. Overall, 2018 is a movie that is worth watching for its storyline, cast, and direction.
