Disaster Opening Of Akelli Again Exposes Fake Success Of OTT Films
After Ghoomer, now we have another film which bite dust without trace. Nushrratt Bharuccha starrer Akelli collected poor 13-14 lacs net all India which means film will fail to cross even 1 cr net lifetime number unless there is dramatic turnaround over the weekend. Film is in no position to recover its P & A cost.
This again cements the fact that there is some discrepancy in tall claims from ott platforms. How come not one percent of audience of ott converts in cinemas, whether it’s Abhishek Bachchan with so called success of Dasvi or Nushrratt with so called success of Chori. Every hit satellite film adds to box office muscle of actors but data from ott remains far from being trustworthy.
Interestingly Akelli clashed with Dream Girl 2 and Nushrratt starred in first part of that parti cult film which was massive hit. Dream Girl 2 opened to close to 9.75-10 cr net day one.
