EXCLUSIVE: Rajinikanth’s Annaatthe crosses Rs 150 cr at the box office on Day 4

On November 4, Annaatthe was released to coincide with Diwali. Critics and a segment of the audience gave the film mixed reviews.

After the unique coronavirus pandemic, Rajinikanth’s Annaatthe has successfully attracted people back to the theatres. The family entertainer has raked in over Rs 150 crore at the box office worldwide in only four days and is still going strong. Annaatthe is directed by Siruthai Siva and produced on a large scale by Kalanithi Maran of Sun Pictures.

Rajinikanth’s film has been out in theatres for nearly a year. He most recently appeared in filmmaker AR Murugadoss’ Darbar, which earned mixed reviews. After a year apart, he’s returning with Annaatthe, in which he plays Kaalaiyan, a devoted brother.

Annaatthe has grossed over Rs 150 crore at the box office worldwide in only four days in theatres. The film earned Rs 146.53 crore in three days and is having a fantastic run. Rajinikanth is one of the few actors in India who has starred in the most films with a budget of more than Rs 100 crore. Annaatthe is believed to have broken multiple records and is on the verge of breaking even.

Annaatthe, directed by Siruthai Siva, is a touching storey about a brother and sister, performed by Rajinikanth and Keerthy Suresh, respectively. The cast includes Nayanthara, Khushbu, Meena, Prakash Raj, Jagapathi Babu, Soori, Livingston, and Pandiyarajan. On November 4, Annaatthe was released to coincide with Diwali. Critics and a segment of the audience gave the film mixed reviews.
